Job Summary
Our client is seeking a skilled Computed Tomography Technologist to operate a CT scanner and produce cross-sectional radiographs for diagnostic purposes. The primary responsibilities include patient positioning, data entry into the computer, and quality assurance monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
- Position and immobilize patients on the examining table using supportive devices to ensure precise positioning, following Radiologist protocols.
- Administer contrast media intravenously and assist Physician/Nurse with intravenous administration.
- Enter details such as scan type, slice thickness, and scan time into the computer.
- Commence CT scanner operations to scan designated anatomical areas.
- Communicate with patients over intercom and monitor them for safety and comfort.
- Evaluate images on video display screens to ensure picture quality.
- Conduct daily and weekly Quality Assurance checks.
- Assess radiographs, video tape, and computer information for technical quality.
Qualifications
- CT specialty training certification (ARRT-CT), NYS RT License with Injection, active BLS training.
Experience
- 6 months to 1 year of related experience preferred.
Skills
- Proficiency in MS Office word processing software.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
- Strong customer service skills, including the ability to manage difficult situations.
- Dependability in following instructions and completing tasks on time.
- Commitment to quality, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness in work.
Education
- Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
Additional Requirements
- Ability to work with moving mechanical parts and potential exposure to radiation and airborne particles.
- Comfortable with moderate noise levels.
