Job Summary
Our client seeks a dedicated Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant responsible for high-quality patient care. The role involves performing physical examinations, diagnosing health conditions, coordinating comprehensive patient care plans, and offering prescribed treatments. The ideal candidate will possess strong nursing autonomy while coordinating with emergency department physicians and ensuring patient safety and satisfaction.
Responsibilities / Job Duties
- Performs physical examinations and preventive health measures within a prescribed scope.
- Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests.
- Records physical findings, formulates patient care plans, and discusses cases with physicians.
- Administers medications and treatments, coordinating with clinical staff.
- Maintains awareness of patient dignity, comfort, and safety needs.
- Ensures excellent patient care and responds to life-saving situations.
- Practices strong nursing autonomy while coordinating with an ED MD.
- Participates in quality improvement activities and inventory control.
Minimum Education and Experience Qualification Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's of science degree in nursing (BSN).
- Master's degree in nursing (MSN) programs available by combining 1 year of accelerated BSN program with 2 years of graduate study.
Qualifications
- NCLEX-PN certified.
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certified.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Competence with EMR and computer use.
- Proficient in intravenous access for blood draw and drug administration.
Additional Requirements
Center-based role requiring standing and sitting for extended periods, manual dexterity, and ability to lift 50 lbs. Potential exposure to infectious diseases and blood-borne pathogens.
