• Welcomes patients and visitors in a warm, friendly and professional manner as they attend the x-ray suite for radiology services.
• Verifies that all demographic and insurance information is current.
• Prepares patients for X-ray examinations by providing education, instruction and assisting patients in positioning body parts.
• Conducts routine X-ray examinations on patients as ordered by the physician, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant.
• Informs physician of wave abnormalities on electrocardiogram.
• Maintains adequate level of supplies in the X-ray suite and advises the Assistant Nurse manager of needs as necessary.
• Ensures equipment is operating properly and contacts appropriate party for equipment repair in order to ensure safe and efficient examination of patients.
• Performs and record scheduled quality control measures to ensure correct and accurate operation.
• Maintains log of X-ray procedures in order to prepare monthly tallies of operating activities.
• Cleans and sterilizes equipment, instruments and work area following safety, cleanliness and infection control procedures.
• Adheres to HIPAA and OSHA guidelines and procedures.
• Communicates with clinical staff and other ancillary departments to ensure patients are flowing through the clinic in a timely manner.
• Attend appropriate meetings and participate in committees as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.

3-5 Must Haves:

• ARRT license
• Graduation from an accredited school of Radiation Therapy Technology and is registered with Missouri Society of Radiologic Technologists (MSRT).
• Maintain CEU credits as required by MSRT.
• Current Basic Life Support certificate.
• Minimum one year or work experience or education directly related to radiologic techniques.
• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary to perform x-ray testing including body mechanics and patient movement.
• Knowledge of radiology equipment including safety hazards common to radiology.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
• Basic computer and data entry skills
• Knowledge of customer service concepts including importance of appropriate image.
• Ability to communicate clearly and positively.
