Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join the Primary Care team. In this role, you will collaborate with clinical staff to support primary care clinicians and patients, serving as an essential care guide throughout the continuum of care. You will perform tasks and follow orders as delegated by clinicians to enhance patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients via telephone or other modalities as part of the primary care team, including callbacks to respond to patient needs.
- Assist in patient care by collecting health information, vitals, and other health history to be shared with the provider and care team members.
- Provide health care support services for all patients (adult and pediatric) following clinic protocols and community practice standards.
- Coordinate general patient care to support various patient needs.
- Handle calls and correspondence regarding pharmacy, lab, referrals, or any other relevant inquiries from physicians, pharmacies, and patients.
- Manage quality initiatives collaboratively with provider and clinical care staff.
- Foster teamwork, cooperation, respect, and diversity within the team.
- Maintain positive communication and a professional demeanor with co-workers and patients at all times.
- Perform other related duties and projects as assigned.
- Attend required training sessions as requested.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Currently holds a valid and active Medical Assistant certification/registration.
Experience
- 2+ years of experience in a Family/Primary Care setting, including Virtual & Telehealth.
Skills
- Self-disciplined, energetic, passionate, innovative, and flexible.
- Ability to work independently and remotely.
- Team player capable of following a system and protocol to achieve a common goal.
- Exhibits sound judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
