Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join the Primary Care team. In this role, you will collaborate with clinical staff to support primary care clinicians and patients. You will be a valuable resource for both patients and clinicians, acting as a care guide throughout the healthcare continuum. Your duties will include executing tasks and orders as delegated by clinicians to enhance patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients via telephone or other modalities within the primary care team, including callbacks to respond to patient needs.
- Gather and record health information, vitals, and health history for the provider and care team members.
- Provide healthcare support services according to clinic protocols and community practice standards.
- Coordinate general patient care to address all patient care needs.
- Handle communications regarding pharmacy, lab, referrals, and respond to inquiries from physicians, pharmacies, and patients.
- Collaborate with providers and clinical staff on quality initiatives.
- Foster teamwork, cooperation, respect, and diversity within the clinic environment.
- Maintain positive communication and professionalism with coworkers and patients.
- Perform other related duties and projects as assigned.
- Attend required training sessions.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Must hold a valid and active MA certification/registration.
- 2+ years of experience in a Family/Primary Care setting or in Virtual & Telehealth environments.
