Registered Nurse (Behavioral Health – Field Based)
About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our behavioral health team in Oxnard. This is a field-based position working primarily with older adult clients in the community, while also supporting some clinic-based intakes. The RN will provide direct patient care, including medication administration (e.g., Invega injections), case management support, and coordination of behavioral health services. This role is ideal for nurses who are passionate about mental health, enjoy working in the field, and want to make a lasting impact on underserved populations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide behavioral health nursing care for a caseload of ~12–13 clients, with support for 30+ clients across the clinic.
- Administer medications, including injections (e.g., Invega).
- Conduct field visits to patients using county vehicles.
- Assist with case management tasks, including Medicare certification support and housing assistance.
- Collaborate closely with psychiatric providers and other clinical staff.
- Document patient care accurately and in compliance with clinic standards.
Qualifications
Must-Have:
- Active California RN license in good standing.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and auto insurance.
- Strong interest or experience working with behavioral health/mentally ill populations.
- Willingness to work primarily in the field.
Nice-to-Have:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
- Experience in community mental health or with older adult populations.
Schedule & Details
- Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Primarily field-based with some clinic intake responsibilities
