Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Clinical Research Lab Coordinator to support the conduct of clinical trials by managing the laboratory requirements for each study protocol. The Lab Coordinator is responsible for day-to-day laboratory operations that ensure proper execution of clinical research studies, along with other duties necessary for successful trial completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain professionalism and ethical conduct while representing the site and engaging with clients, patients, and sponsors.
- Follow all site and sponsor Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure laboratory workspaces and equipment are kept clean, organized, and in working order, reporting any issues to the Site Manager.
- Assist with supply management and inventory.
- Collaborate with study staff to review lab manuals and package inserts to determine study requirements.
- Ensure lab kits and ancillary supplies are ordered, received, inventoried, and stored before study start.
- Review, train, and maintain familiarity with lab manuals, flow charts, and package inserts for CLIA-waived tests.
- Collect, process, store, and package biological specimens for shipment as required by study protocol, lab manual, and package inserts (IATA certification required for packaging/shipping).
- Monitor and document daily that onsite samples are stored at appropriate temperatures, promptly reporting any excursions.
- Schedule and confirm specimen shipments with couriers to ensure same-day pickup or delivery as required.
- Print, file, and track lab reports for investigator review and signature, ensuring timely resolution of lab queries.
- Maintain accurate logs of all specimens onsite, including storage requirements and timelines.
- Assist with lab-related study closeout procedures.
- Perform additional study-related procedures as delegated.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma required.
- Phlebotomy certification and/or relevant experience preferred.
Skills
- Strong phlebotomy skills.
- Experience with lab specimen processing (preferred).
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and protocol requirements.
- Basic knowledge of OSHA requirements.
Additional Requirements
- Extended periods of sitting and computer work.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds as needed.
- Ability to safely handle dry ice with proper precautions.
