Job Summary

Our client is seeking a dedicated Self Pay Collector to process accounts receivable for various facilities and select physicians, using both manual data and computer systems. The position requires a high level of accuracy and reliability, as well as flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of staff, insurance carriers, conservators, and patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Receives and tabulates information from the database for invoice preparation as part of the billing cycle.
• Assists therapists with billing inquiries related to time logs.
• Processes accounts receivable (A/R) billing promptly and accurately.
• Inputs data from time log systems into computerized A/R systems to generate and print invoices.
• Transmits and mails invoices electronically, ensuring all necessary documentation is included.
• Verifies insurance carrier information and maintains billing records within accounting systems.
• Attends facility billing meetings and collaborates with Reimbursement Specialists for A/R collection issues.
• Maintains systematic billing files for each patient across all facilities.
• Ensures professional and ethical relationships with staff, patients, and their families.
• Participates in staff meetings, in-service training, and maintains regular attendance.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or G.E.D. required.

Experience

• 2+ years of experience is preferred in medical billing.
• Proficiency with computer applications such as Word, Word Perfect, Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications.

Additional Requirements

• On the job training is provided to acclimate to client systems and procedures.
