Job Summary
Our client seeks a Phlebotomist Floater to perform daily phlebotomy activities at the Patient Service Center (PSC) or In-Office Phlebotomy (IOP) with precision and timeliness. The role involves coverage of client locations as needed and requires travel. This individual is expected to interact professionally with clients, patients, and other staff while ensuring forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing follow established procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Ready to travel to client assignments within a designated region with short notice.
- Greet customers appropriately and treat them courteously.
- Ensure all field phlebotomy and PSC specimens are collected accurately and on time.
- Collect specimens according to established procedures and reduce patient anxiety by providing a calm environment.
- Dispose of blood or other biohazard materials according to relevant laws and policies.
- Enter patient, specimen, insurance, or billing information into a computer with high accuracy.
- Label, centrifuge, split, and store specimens as required.
- Maintain required records, documentation, and logs.
- Perform basic clerical duties and demonstrate organizational commitment.
- Ensure facilities are neat and clean and report any maintenance needs.
- Utilize proper PPE to ensure safety and exercise laboratory safety precautions.
- Adhere to the Corporate Compliance Program and all policies, including privacy and security policies.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Medical training as a medical assistant or paramedic preferred.
- Phlebotomist Certification is preferred; required in some states.
- Prior job-related experience is required (1-3 years).
- Access to reliable transportation and communication is necessary.
- Valid driver's license with a minimum of 1 year of driving experience.
- Less than 3 minor moving violation convictions within the previous 3 years.
- Overnight stays may be required.

Travel is required as part of this role.
