Job Summary

Our client is seeking a Radiology Scheduler responsible for managing incoming and outgoing calls for Radiology services. The primary responsibilities include scheduling and collecting necessary demographic and financial information to ensure streamlined access to care and throughput for radiology services, ensuring active insurance coverage, acquiring and explaining benefit information, and securing authorization for services.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize workqueues/workdrivers and reports to complete daily tasks.
• Interview patients to verify demographic, insurance, employer, and encounter information.
• Confirm the need for pre-certification and/or authorization for tests.
• Document information into Epic.
• Notify patients of expected out-of-pocket expenses and request payment.
• Educate patients on pertinent policies, protocols, and instructions.
• Utilize problem-solving skills to resolve issues and inform Supervisor of financial risks.
• Maintain knowledge of scheduling guidelines, facility structure, and payer regulations.
• Coordinate the scheduling of appointments and complete the scheduling process in EPIC.
• Verify insurance activity and confirm benefits and coverage details.
• Communicate with Financial Counselors, physician offices, patients, and other staff.
• Ensure proper documentation and collection of co-payments and fees.
• Ensure payer requirements are met, including verifying and documenting insurance eligibility.
