Job Title: Patient Access Supervisor (Contract Position)
Position Summary:
The Patient Access Supervisor is responsible for the supervision, coordination, and development of registration and scheduling teams within a healthcare setting. This role is critical in centralizing registration services, maintaining data accuracy, ensuring a positive patient experience, and overseeing staff training and compliance. The Supervisor supports operational excellence in a 24/7 environment, including emergency department coverage.
This is a temporary contract position to cover an FMLA leave, with a duration of approximately 800 hours.
Compensation:
- Hourly Rate: $26.00 – $33.00, based on experience and qualifications
- Employment Type: Temporary, Contract (Approximately 800 hours)
- Schedule: Full-Time, with flexibility required to support 24/7 operational needs
Key Responsibilities:
Supervisory Duties:
- Lead registration and scheduling staff, including onboarding, training, scheduling, performance evaluation, and time approval.
- Provide staff coverage support as needed and oversee daily operations.
- Monitor daily workflows and staffing levels to ensure efficiency.
- Conduct team rounds and provide coaching, feedback, and corrective actions as necessary.
- Assist in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and productivity benchmarks.
- Facilitate staff meetings and support individual goal setting aligned with department objectives.
Operational Leadership:
- Implement a centralized registration model and collaborate across departments to streamline operations.
- Manage staff schedules to ensure coverage for all patient access points, including a 24/7 emergency department.
- Serve as an EMR registration workflow expert and lead technical training initiatives.
- Monitor accuracy and quality of registration and scheduling through audits and reports.
- Work with internal departments to resolve front-end claim denials and registration-related billing issues.
- Use data and analytics to identify process improvements and implement best practices.
Compliance & Quality Assurance:
- Ensure compliance with organizational, federal, and state regulations (e.g., JC, HFAP, CMS, OSHA).
- Keep current with regulatory requirements affecting billing and registration.
- Develop and manage vendor relationships to ensure service agreements are met.

Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience in patient registration or access services in a healthcare setting.
- At least 1–2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
- Familiarity with EMR systems and patient access software.
- Strong understanding of healthcare billing, front-end workflows, and compliance standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
