Schedule: Monday - Friday; 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM (with potential to stay a little longer). No evening, weekend, or holiday rotations for this role.

Job Summary:
The IVF Nurse Coordinator plays a crucial role in the fertility treatment process, making a significant impact through patient care, support, assessment, education, and counseling. They provide comprehensive care, support, and coordination throughout the IVF journey, helping patients navigate the complexities of fertility treatments while striving for the best possible outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:

Assess patients' medical histories, reproductive health, and any underlying conditions that may impact fertility and ensure appropriate data is entered in EMR.

Collaborate with physicians to determine suitable treatment plans for individual patients.

Educate patients on the IVF process, medications, potential side effects, and lifestyle factors that may affect treatment success.

Provide emotional support and counseling throughout the patient's journey.

Guide patients on self-administering medications and monitor progress; adjust medication dosages based on responses and communicate concerns to the medical team.

Coordinate and schedule appointments, diagnostic tests, and procedures, ensuring all consents are signed and patients adhere to timelines.

Monitor established pregnancies via ultrasonography and lab tests, through the first 8-12 weeks of pregnancy.

Serve as a liaison between patients and the medical team, relaying vital information, test results, and treatment instructions.

Advocate for patients, ensuring their needs and preferences are considered and help them make informed decisions about their care.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting all aspects of the IVF treatment in the EMR.

Manage the flow of the clinic during morning monitoring hours for daily blood work and ultrasound appointments.

Track and ensure all blood work results are available on the same day.

Communicate results to physicians for treatment care plans.

Communicate with the lab and physicians to ensure timely results and address any discrepancies.

Assist advanced practice providers with in-clinic procedures (IUIs, HSGs, saline sonograms).

Create the "trigger list" and schedule for the surgery center for patients moving to egg retrieval.

Oversee 60-100 patients daily for review at the Vienna site, and monitor results from Rockville and DC sites remotely.

Handle pregnancy losses and related treatment and medication teaching with compassionate communication.

Maintain strong communication with providers, embryology lab, andrology lab, and the surgery center.

Responsible for the daily schedule.

Qualifications:
-
Associate Degree or higher in Nursing, from an accredited school of nursing required.

Current State Registered Nurse (RN) license (without limitations) required.

Active BCLS/ACLS certification required.

3+ years RN experience preferred.

2+ years of previous experience in women’s health, fertility, OB/GYN, or Labor & Delivery preferred.

Pediatric background is a plus, helpful for interacting with sensitive populations.

Experience from a hospital setting is beneficial.

Demonstrated stability in previous roles.

Comfortable talking to physicians and effectively communicating results.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Active, likes to be on your feet, engaged, and able to communicate well with the team and patients.

Compassionate communication skills, especially for sensitive situations like pregnancy loss.

Excellent attendance is critical as there is no backup in this role.

Willingness to learn fertility.
