Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dynamic and strategic Clinical Trial Manager to drive growth for their SMO clinical trial network. This role is responsible for identifying and recruiting Principal Investigators (PIs), securing new clinical trials, and forging long-term partnerships with community-based clinics, private practices, and health systems. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in clinical research business development, strong relationship management skills, and a passion for transforming access to trials.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop relationships with CROs, biopharma sponsors, and research consortia to source new study opportunities.
- Utilize available industry trial insights to develop therapeutically relevant trial pipeline and collaborate with internal operations to assess feasibility and capacity across network sites.
- Negotiate study terms and hand off to the clinical operations team for execution.
- Identify and recruit qualified PIs across neurology, immunology, GI, women’s health, and other target specialties.
- Conduct outreach and develop value propositions for PIs interested in participating in clinical trials through our SMO model.
- Guide providers through onboarding and trial activation processes.
- Build and manage strategic partnerships with clinics, academic affiliates, and health systems.
- Structure mutually beneficial research agreements that support long-term collaboration and trial delivery.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, sponsor meetings, and site engagement events.
- Analyze market trends and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective PIs, sites, and trials.
- Work cross-functionally with marketing, legal, clinical operations, and leadership to refine our SMO value proposition.
- Contribute to pitch decks, proposals, and investment materials as needed.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in clinical research, business development, or site network growth (SMO/Site/CRO/biotech/pharma).
- Proven track record of successfully recruiting investigators and securing clinical trials.
- Strong understanding of GCP, trial feasibility, and the clinical site landscape.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to thrive in a startup environment.
- Willingness to travel for conferences, business development meetings, and ad hoc company activities.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in life sciences, business, or public health a plus.
