Job Summary
Our client is seeking a skilled Surgery Scheduler to manage a heavy workflow and to facilitate scheduling for up to 20 surgeries a week. The role involves coordinating schedules for 2-3 providers, overseeing the complete procedure from pre-op to post-op, and obtaining authorization for surgeries. The candidate will also help maintain effective communication with patients through various channels and support other departments as required.
Responsibilities / Job Duties
- Managing and scheduling for high-volume surgeries.
- Coordinating between 2-3 healthcare providers.
- Handling pre-op and post-op scheduling and communications.
- Obtaining necessary procedure authorization.
- Sending scheduling information to hospitals or surgical centers.
- Scheduling regular appointments and assisting the call center as needed.
- Maintaining effective communication with patients via text, email, or voicemail.
- Managing and updating the surgery schedule for providers.
- Helping cover PBX operations during lunch hours.
Minimum Education and Experience Qualification Requirements
Experience
- At least 1 year of scheduling experience is preferred, but open to teaching willing learners.
- Experience with orthopedic scheduling is a plus.
- Familiarity with submitting authorizations through insurance portals.
- Experience in managing schedules and communicating with PCP offices.
- Open to candidates from regular scheduling, prior authorization, IVS backgrounds with a keen interest in learning surgery scheduling.
Skills
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficient in managing complex schedules and coordinating between multiple stakeholders.
- Competency in using various patient communication portals and tools.
Schedule / Shift
Monday to Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM
