Job Summary

Our client is seeking a skilled Director of Reimbursement to serve as a key resource for providing Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement support and implementing government payment strategies. This role involves planning, preparing, and reviewing annual Medicare/Medicaid cost report filings and managing various related projects. The Director will ensure revenue and receivables reporting compliance with GAAP and will closely interact with finance department personnel at system facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepares Medicare and Medicaid cost reports and supporting forms/schedules as required.
• Responsible for the completion and review of the annual New Jersey Acute Care Hospital (SHARE) cost reports.
• Monitor and validate State and federal issued reimbursement rates.
• Investigates and responds to audit reviews/questions/adjustments.
• Regularly monitor and evaluate changes in reimbursement regulations and policies.
• Manage the data collection and reporting process for cost reports.
• Supervises Financial Analyst(s) in completion of assigned projects.
• Assists in orientation, training, and development of new Financial Analysts.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, or Health Administration required.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience interpreting Medicare and Medicaid payment regulations.
• Expert knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid regulation and payment rules is essential.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Skills

• Advanced knowledge of government payment regulation and third-party revenue accounting practices.
• Excellent communication and staff management skills.
