Job Title: Windows 11 Deployment Technician (Contract)
Location: Kenmore & Copley sites (Greater Boston area)
Duration: Through Mid-October
Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday
Travel Required: Yes – Must have reliable transportation
Pay: $20/hr W2
Job Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Deployment Technician to support a large-scale Windows 11 compliance initiative. This role involves imaging, transporting, and installing approximately 1,000 new desktop machines across multiple sites, with the goal of completing the rollout by mid-October. You will work closely with existing staff, visiting one site per day, and replacing up to 12 machines daily.
Key Responsibilities:
- Image desktop computers using a standard Windows 11 image (no customization required)
- Prepare and pack imaged equipment for delivery to on-site locations
- Visit provider offices and exam rooms to replace existing desktops with new units
- Log old equipment and ensure accurate tracking
- Schedule installations with end users as needed
- Build and configure new machines, ensuring Windows 11 installation is complete
- Work from daily task lists, targeting 12 machines per day
- Travel to different sites across the region (primarily Kenmore and Copley)
- Assist during initial setup phase (first week), imaging and preparing up to 200 devices
Must-Have Qualifications:
- 1+ years of hands-on PC hardware experience (including physical installations and cable connections)
- Ability to distinguish and properly connect VGA, HDMI, and other peripheral cables
- Experience with imaging laptops or desktops (using standardized processes)
- Basic Windows OS navigation and troubleshooting
- Professional demeanor with reliable attendance and punctuality
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and meeting daily deployment targets
- Must have a car – most sites are not accessible by public transit
- Ability to lift and move desktop equipment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Windows 11
- Prior experience in a large-scale hardware deployment project

- Parking is available at some sites; others are accessible via public transit with advance notice
- This role is primarily desktop-focused, with minimal laptop work
- Technicians will be paired with experienced team members during the initial rollout phase
