Job Summary

The Medical Assistant will serve as a Patient Care Coordinator, mainly handling front office responsibilities with some support to the back office. This role involves greeting patients and visitors, managing patient cases, and carrying out various administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and direct patients, salespeople, and visitors.
• Answer telephone calls, respond to inquiries, or direct calls to appropriate personnel.
• Check in patients by verifying demographics, collecting insurance information, and obtaining required signatures.
• Conduct Vitamin sales, coordinate supplies, and maintain accurate logs.
• Collect co-payments and payments, reconcile daily cash reports.
• Provide financial counseling to patients or direct them to the appropriate department.
• Prepare new patient files and process chart/file preparation efficiently.
• Maintain positive relationships with primary care and referring physician offices.
• Complete clerical tasks including distributing mail, scheduling, data input, and more.
• Monitor and optimize schedules using available programs and reports.
• Process appointment tickler reports and follow up with patients as needed.
• Obtain and confirm consult information, ensuring completion with physicians.
• Process medical record requests in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
