Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated remote Patient Account Specialist to manage the submission and follow-up of insurance claims. The primary responsibilities include handling insurance claims, validating patient information for billing, and maintaining effective customer relations. The role is essential for ensuring accurate billing and timely payments from insurance companies.
Key Responsibilities
- Submit primary insurance claims using the electronic claims terminal or hard copy, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
- Use online worklists and referrals to review accounts pending payment, contact insurance companies, and expedite payment.
- Validate patient information for future billing activities and apply necessary adjustments to account statements.
- Maintain a suspense file for account documentation requirements and ensure follow-up within 30 days.
- Handle incoming calls from patients and insurance companies, maintaining good customer relations and minimizing account backlogs.
- Review bad debt reports to determine account processing, with minimal referral errors to collections each month.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
