Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Medical Doctor to work in an outpatient setting. The role involves performing evaluations and treatments for patients, particularly focusing on the medical needs of the homeless population. The doctor will be responsible for creating care plans, conducting office procedures, and supervising advanced practice providers, with a goal of supporting a patient-centered medical home.
Responsibilities / Job Duties
- Perform evaluation and treatment of patients, including those experiencing homelessness.
- Create comprehensive care plans addressing acute and chronic conditions.
- Document medical history and interventions thoroughly and timely.
- Review and act on laboratory and diagnostic results promptly.
- Coordinate specialist referrals and supervise Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).
- Supervise medical assistants to enhance care team efficiency.
- Participate in daily team huddles and continuous quality improvement activities.
- Provide compassionate care to patients with mental illness or substance use disorder.
- Meet productivity standards and participate in "on call" duties periodically.
- Assist in health screenings and maintain active enrollment in various payor programs.
Minimum Education and Experience Qualification Requirements
Qualifications
- Licensed to practice medicine in California.
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
- Hold a valid California License and DEA license.
- Provider BLS certification (including CPR certification) required.
Skills
- Proficiency in assessing and addressing the diverse medical needs of patients.
- Competence in performing in-office medical procedures.
- Effective communication and team collaboration skills.
- Ability to document and lock progress notes efficiently.
Schedule / Shift
Open to part-time or full-time with a very flexible schedule.
