Job Summary
Our client is seeking a licensed clinician to join a team dedicated to addressing the behavioral health needs of older adults in the Bronx. As part of the Thrive NYC initiative, this program aims to expand access to mental health care by establishing a satellite mental health clinic within local senior centers.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize outreach strategies to engage older adults in mental health services within senior centers.
- Provide evidence-based mental health interventions in individual and group settings.
- Administer mental health screening tools to identify potential disorders and impairments requiring care.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team conferences, case monitoring, and discharge planning per guidelines.
- Deliver a comprehensive range of psychiatric social services to older adult clients.
- Conduct group psychotherapy services for clients and families under psychiatric supervision.
- Participate in staff committees, program planning, and represent the organization at events.
- Complete case records, reports, and statistics within mandated timelines, utilizing EHR and other software.
Qualifications
- Possession of or candidacy for a New York State License in Clinical Social Work or Clinical Psychology. LMSW, LMHC, LCAT, or LMFT may be considered.
- Proficiency in English and Spanish.
- Strong writing and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to travel using mass transit and navigate client residences.
- An understanding of the roles of race, religion, ethnicity, sexual preference, and values in client service.
Skills
- Proficient in using Netsmart EHR, STARS, Microsoft Excel.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Additional Requirements
Open to both full-time and part-time positions, with a preference for full-time (40 hours, 8:30-4:30).
