Job Summary
Our client is seeking a diligent and professional Safety Monitor. The primary responsibilities of this role include patrolling and monitoring premises to prevent theft, violence, and infractions of rules. The Safety Monitor will also provide support to the client population by assisting with the food pantry, de-escalating conflicts, and following up with relevant staff on client issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Lock doors and gates of entrances and exits to secure buildings.
- Answer alarms and investigate disturbances.
- Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security.
- Write reports of daily activities and irregularities such as equipment or property damage, theft, or the presence of unauthorized persons.
- Patrol CRW floors to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure the security of doors, windows, and gates.
- Call police or fire departments in emergencies, such as fire or the presence of unauthorized persons.
- Respond to medical emergencies by administering basic first aid or obtaining assistance.
- Inspect and adjust security systems, equipment, or machinery to ensure operational use.
- Monitor and adjust controls that regulate building systems, such as air conditioning, furnace, or boiler.
Qualifications
- Active Security Guard license for NYS – preferred
- F02 Fireguard License preferred
- Minimum of 3 years experience working with the SUD population
- Ability to multitask and handle challenging situations professionally
- Willingness to work as part of a team
- Must be organized, self-motivated, a team player, and computer literate
