Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Behavior Technician to provide rehabilitative support for co-occurring populations. The primary responsibilities include supervising clients, facilitating educational groups, handling crisis intervention, and ensuring effective communication with staff and clients.
Responsibilities / Job Duties
- Provide line of sight supervision to clients and facilitate skill-building psycho-educational and support groups.
- Complete assigned house-related chores.
- Facilitate educational and non-substantive counseling groups and document these activities in client records.
- Participate actively with clients and assist in medication administration documentation.
- Document clients’ activities and behavior in KIPU system.
- Communicate openly with staff, therapists, and Executive Director.
- Assist the Educational Director with monitoring client computer use during school times.
- Encourage client participation in all activities and promote positive interactions among peers.
- Carry out additional responsibilities as delegated.
Minimum Education and Experience Qualification Requirements
Education
- AA/BA in mental health-related field preferred.
- Certification in mental health is preferred.
Qualifications
- Minimum of one year of relevant experience.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer skills (internet, email, Word).
- Knowledge of mental health treatment regulations and procedures.
Experience
- At least 1 year of experience in the social services field is preferred.
Skills
- Analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective oral communication and presentation skills.
- Strong time management and self-motivation.
- Judgment and accountability in handling responsibilities.
Additional Requirements
- Frequent sitting and the ability to stay stationary 50% of the time.
- Must be able to lift and carry light objects.
- Ability to travel between facilities via car.
