About Us: We are the only hospital providing emergency and ambulatory care to the densely populated, culturally and economically diverse, and medically underserved populations of the Rockaways and Five Towns in southern Queens County and southwestern Nassau County, New York. Position: Licensed Social Worker

Type: Full-Time (75 hours biweekly)

Hours: 8:30am – 5p.m. (alternating Saturday’s are required for this role)

Location: Far Rockaway, NY

Compensation: $45.28 – $56.00 per hour (commensurate with experience)

Additional Pay: Shift differential, where applicable

Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited institution
• Active LMSW or LCSW license in New York State
• Minimum of 3 years of experience working with a psychiatric population.
• Basic knowledge of psychotherapy modalities and interventions
• Bilingual in Spanish required
• Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment

About the Role:

We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and dedicated Licensed Master Social Worker (LCSW or LMSW) to join our Behavioral Health team. In this vital role, you will provide individualized support to patients through therapeutic interventions and psycho-education, contributing to their overall mental wellness and recovery journey.

You will conduct individual counseling sessions, facilitate a variety of therapeutic groups, and offer psycho-educational support to patients and their families. Your expertise will help address critical areas such as substance use disorders, trauma, emotional regulation, social skills development, and the psychosocial impact of medical illnesses.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individual counseling in accordance with each patient's treatment plan.
• Design, implement, and lead therapeutic groups focusing on:
• Substance use and recovery
• Trauma-informed care
• Affective disorders
• Social skill development
• Coping with chronic or acute medical illness
• Provide psycho-education sessions to patients and their families/care partners to enhance understanding and support treatment outcomes.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive, patient-centered care.
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation in compliance with regulatory standards and institutional policies.
