Job Summary

Our client is looking for an Insurance Follow Up Representative to manage and collect outstanding workers' compensation accounts receivable. This role involves claim follow-up, denial resolution, payment posting, and effective communication with insurers, employers, and patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Proactively contact insurance carriers, employers, and patients regarding outstanding claims.
• Analyze claim status and identify reasons for delays, denials, or underpayments.
• Document all collection activities and communications accurately within patient account notes.
• Initiate and manage appeals for denied or underpaid claims.
• Research and resolve billing discrepancies and provide necessary documentation.
• Monitor claim aging and prioritize follow-up based on payer guidelines and internal policies.
• Verify and accurately post payments received from insurance carriers and employers.
• Reconcile patient accounts to ensure accurate payment application and identify discrepancies.
• Process adjustments, refunds, and write-offs as needed.
• Identify and resolve payment posting errors.
• Communicate effectively with insurance adjusters, employers, and patients to resolve claim issues.
• Collaborate with internal departments to obtain necessary information.
• Respond to inquiries from patients and other stakeholders in a timely and professional manner.
• Maintain positive relationships with all parties involved in the claims process.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all collection activities.
• Generate and analyze reports on outstanding accounts receivable and collection performance.
• Adhere to HIPAA and all applicable workers' compensation regulations and payer guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with health system policies and procedures.
