Job Summary

Our client is seeking a Back Office Manager who will be part of a high-volume team specializing in women's health. The role involves working initially as a Medical Assistant supporting the entire office, and the primary focus is to assist with patient care while learning the specialty.

Key Responsibilities

• Room patients by escorting them to exam rooms, obtaining vital signs, and assisting with medical history documentation.
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, including pelvic exams, pap smears, and ultrasounds.
• Provide patient education on women's health topics, such as contraception, prenatal care, and menopause management.
• Perform basic laboratory tests like urinalysis and pregnancy tests, recording results accurately in patient charts.
• Create patient charts using the Athena EMR system and ensure accurate documentation of patient information.
• Handle patient inquiries, phone calls, and messages promptly and professionally, including calling patients with results.
• Assist healthcare providers during examinations, procedures, and surgeries as required, and ensure medical instruments are sterile and ready for use.
• Stock exam rooms with necessary supplies, maintain cleanliness and organization, and ensure equipment is in proper working order.

Qualifications

• Experience in handling patient care in high-volume settings.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and women's health care procedures.
• Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems, preferably Athena.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
