Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Healthcare Technology Manager, who will function as a facility’s Biomedical or Clinical Engineering Manager within a Healthcare Organization. The manager will serve as the primary administrative contact for hospital leadership regarding the Medical Equipment Maintenance Program. Key responsibilities include directing departmental activities, ensuring compliance with relevant agency requirements, and participating in inter-hospital committees such as life safety and capital acquisition. The Manager is expected to maintain a strong presence and relationship within the facility, with a focus on customer satisfaction and performance indicators.
Responsibilities / Job Duties
- Manage daily operations of the Biomedical Engineering department and resident staff.
- Create, assign, and track monthly scheduled maintenance workload.
- Approve staff expenses, PTO requests, and timecards.
- Monitor service repair activities performed by staff and vendors.
- Ensure accurate medical equipment inventory and documentation.
- Meet facility performance indicators and manage purchase orders efficiently.
- Collaborate with clinical engineering staff for annual quality audits.
- Engage with hospital leadership to assess departmental needs and opportunities.
- Oversee the education and training regarding biomedical equipment usage.
- Address customer and employee issues in a timely manner.
- Maintain all facility-assigned test equipment as per original manufacturer requirements.
- Lead training and development for biomedical internship technicians and apprentices.
- Motivate and set annual goals for the team, providing feedback for improvement.
Minimum Education and Experience Qualification Requirements
Education
- H.S. Diploma or equivalent required.
- Associates Degree or DOD equivalent training required.
- Bachelor’s Degree, or higher level of education preferred.
- CBET, CHTM, or similar certification preferred.
Skills
- Extensive understanding of life-support and diagnostic support devices.
- Familiarity with Hospital HIPAA policies and procedures.
- Strong communication and team-building skills.
- Understanding of regulatory accrediting agencies and their processes.
- Mechanically inclined with strong technical skills.
Schedule / Shift
Forty hours per week during daytime and evening hours. Scheduled work hours may change. Overtime may be required or permitted with prior approval. This position may be included in the on-call rotation for the facility.
