Job Summary

Our client is seeking a Medical Assistant to perform administrative and clinical duties under the direction of a physician. The role involves administering care to patients both in person and over the phone, maintaining medical records, advising patients on health maintenance, and performing general office duties. Key responsibilities include rooming patients, taking and recording vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, and scheduling appointments.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patient's conditions to physician.
• Maintain accurate and detailed reports and records.
• Maintain physician clinic and surgery schedules.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and take detailed medical histories.
• Prepare patients for and assist physician with examinations, treatments, or surgical procedures.
• Prepare rooms, sterile instruments, equipment, or supplies while ensuring the stock of supplies is maintained.
• Contact medical facilities or departments to schedule patients for tests or admissions.
• Consult and coordinate with other healthcare team members.

Qualifications

• Must have excellent verbal communication and phone skills.
• High energy level with the ability to work under stress and exhibit emotional maturity, stability, and flexibility.
• Cooperative work attitude toward co-employees, management, patients, visitors, and physicians.
• Basic knowledge of computer systems and Electronic Medical Records.
• Ability to work with little supervision to accomplish tasks.

Experience

• 1+ years' experience in a medical setting preferred.
• Orthopedic clinic experience preferred.

Education

• High School Graduate or GED required.
• CMA or MA Certificate or equivalent experience and/or education required.
