Join our team and play a vital role in patient care as a Medical Scribe! We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled individual to provide real-time documentation support to our physicians/clinicians. This full-time position offers a consistent schedule of 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

As a Medical Scribe, your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and organizing medical record documentation/charts for physicians prior to patient visits.
• Proactively anticipating physician needs by obtaining relevant internal and external medical records and test results.
• Ensuring the completeness and accuracy of all documentation elements.
• Accompanying physicians/clinicians during patient encounters to capture and transcribe medical record information in real-time using our electronic medical record (EHR) system.
• Documenting the physician/clinician's communication with patients using appropriate medical terminology and phrasing.
• Preparing (pending) orders for follow-up testing, lab work, medications, consults, and/or referrals, linking them with the correct diagnoses.
• Documenting accurate follow-up instructions and the designated level of service based on physician/clinician direction.
• Assisting with data entry from various devices and other sources.
• Completing medical records for each patient encounter, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
• Under physician/clinician direction, updating patient history and other pertinent health information in the patient record.
• Preparing and submitting all documentation for review and approval.

Qualifications:

• High School Graduate.
• Typically requires 1 year of experience in medical assisting, medical transcription, emergency medical services, patient service, and/or as a healthcare professional with demonstrated proficiency in medical terminology and technical spelling.
• Successful completion of our authorized medical scribe training course within 30 days of hire.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, including basic human anatomy and coding, and familiarity with medication names and medical procedures.
• Understanding of essential elements of documenting provider-patient encounters, HIPAA compliance, and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain patient sensitivity and confidentiality.
• Proficient computer skills, including advanced keyboarding, above-average typing speed, Windows navigation, and experience with electronic mail and electronic medical record systems.
• Ability to effectively multi-task with excellent prioritization and organizational skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in documenting health information.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• Must have the ability to travel to various work locations as needed.
