Medix is hiring an IR (interventional radiology) sedation nurse in Syracuse, New York! 

Job Description:

The IR Sedation Nurse is responsible for the assessment of patients including the development, evaluation, and modification of the plan of care for patients receiving moderate sedation for surgical procedures. Performs various activities necessary for the preparation of the patient and the procedure room for the radiology procedures in compliance with policies and procedures and state and federal regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Prepares patients and procedure rooms for radiology procedures
• Conducts pre-op calls and explains procedures to patients, addressing concerns, and ensuring patient confidentiality (HIPAA)
• Ensures medical records are accurate, complete, and compliant with regulations, performing regular audits
• Maintains the cleanliness and safety of the facility, inspecting equipment, recommending repairs, and managing supplies efficiently
• Administers moderate sedation during procedure

Types of procedures at the IR center:

• Prostate artery embolization (PAE) for treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)
• Varicocele embolization
• Uterine fibroid embolization (UFE)
• Hemorrhoids

Requirements: 

• NY RN license
• BLS, ACLS
• Procedural experience
• Experience using IV's for moderate sedation

Schedule:

Monday -  Friday (no weekends) 

The practice is open from 6:30am - 4:30pm - any 8.5 hour shift between those times are available!
