Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Bilingual Mental Health Clinician to work with underserved populations using a mobile mental health van. The role involves outreach, wellness check-ins, crisis intervention, safety planning, solution-based therapy, referrals, and community event participation. The goal is to assess mental health status and ensure safety while providing mental health education and support.
Responsibilities / Job Duties
- Engage with underserved populations, such as homeless individuals, farm workers, and those in remote areas.
- Conduct consultations and interventions within a mobile van setting, ensuring privacy as needed.
- Perform wellness check-ins and assess mental health status to ensure client safety.
- Develop and implement crisis interventions and safety plans.
- Promote solution-based therapy and encourage clients to connect with supportive family or friends.
- Provide referrals to mental health/social services.
- Participate in community events and school wellness fairs to offer mental health education and family support.
- Document client interactions and services provided using smartcare.
Education
- Valid California license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
- Consideration for Associate Clinical Social Workers (ACSW) or Associate Marriage and Family Therapists (AMFT) nearing licensure.
Qualifications
- Fluency in both English and Spanish (bilingual).
- Valid California Driver's License and proof of auto insurance.
Experience
- Experience working with underserved populations, including the homeless.
- Comfortable working in a mobile, community-based setting.
Skills
- Compassionate and empathetic with a strong commitment to serving vulnerable populations.
Schedule / Shift
Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Availability on weekends for events is required; a weekday off is provided if a weekend shift is worked.
