Job Summary

The Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing various laboratory tasks in a flavor lab. These tasks include working with equipment such as homogenizers and spray dryers, conducting extractions, pasteurizing, compounding, and managing samples. Their goal is to create and provide flavor formulations for the Director/Beverage Lab and various clients, ensuring accurate and organized results.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare finished beverage products using company flavors for the Director/Beverage Lab and clients.
• Screen and compound flavor samples for various stakeholders, including customers and Q.C.
• Develop procedures for obtaining required samples and work accurately with small quantities.
• Measure parameters like brix and titratable acidity for beverage products and flavors.
• Maintain laboratory supplies, clean equipment, and keep the lab orderly.
• Prepare and ship samples, ensuring all necessary paperwork is included.
• Keep accurate records of all samples and comply with laboratory safety procedures.
• Monitor workflow with the Director, Beverage Lab, and/or Senior Director, Technical Services Flavors.

Qualifications

• 2 years of related experience, or equivalent education and experience combination.
• Flexibility to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Detail-oriented with strong communication skills.
• Flavor and food experience is preferred.

Skills

• Proficient in using equipment such as barcode scanners.
• Strong mathematical and reasoning abilities.
• Leadership and interpersonal skills to promote teamwork.

Additional Requirements

• Must occasionally lift and/or move more than 10-25 pounds.
• Exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions.
