Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Medical Assistant to perform quality team-based patient care under the direct supervision of a clinician. This role involves both clinical and administrative functions to promote health and wellness in a safe and friendly environment. The Medical Assistant will support clinicians and care management teams in managing chronic diseases and in the examination and treatment of pediatric patients. Additionally, they will be specialty trained as applicable.
Responsibilities / Job Duties
- Maintain high-quality patient experience, ensure safe patient environment, and maintain cleanliness and appropriate supplies in adherence to infection control policies.
- Perform and document patient intake vitals, and notify clinician of any abnormal findings.
- Conduct patient interviews with accurate documentation and update medical records as needed.
- Prepare patients for clinician examination, ensure clinician orders are performed and documented accurately.
- Assist in vision and hearing screenings, electrocardiograms, and other specialty procedures under clinician supervision.
- Perform and document vaccine and medication reconciliation; educate patients/parents prior to administration.
- Manage vaccine cold chain, handle, store, prepare, and administer vaccines properly.
- Complete patient follow-ups, manage tasks such as handling correspondence, obtaining medication pre-authorization, and arranging follow-up appointments.
