Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Laboratory Technician responsible for performing routine laboratory tests following documented procedures. These tests may include environmental monitoring, in-process water system testing, and/or Finished Product testing in support of the laboratory operation and the manufacturing site.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct laboratory testing on raw materials, in-process, finished goods, and/or stability samples per standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Conduct routine environmental monitoring of BFS Machines and ISO classified cleanroom environments (non-viable air, viable air, and surface sampling).
- Collect in-process samples from the site water system and perform required testing (Conductivity, TOC, Rapid LAL, Microbiological Filtration).
- Perform routine Finished Product testing including USP <71> Sterility Testing, USP <85> Endotoxin Testing (gel clot and/or kinetic turbidimetric), and IC Assay.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment (autoclave, scales, laminar flow hood, chemical fume hood, conductivity meter, pH meter, TOC analyzer).
- Accurately follow all procedures related to performing testing, dispositioning test results, data documentation, and laboratory safety in alignment with current GDP, GMP, and GLP requirements.
- Review test data, calculations, and results for accuracy and completeness in a timely manner.
- Work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
- Communicate effectively with peers and other departments.
- Perform other duties as assigned or requested (including but not limited to: preparation of disinfectants and/or testing media, washing glassware, monitoring/stocking laboratory supplies, cleaning incubators) in support of a collaborative working lab environment across all working shifts.
Qualifications
- Basic skills with Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Understanding of how to work safely in a laboratory and manufacturing environment.
- Adaptable to a fast-paced environment.
Experience
- 2+ years of relevant work experience, or 1+ year of relevant laboratory work experience with an Associate’s Degree.
- Prior experience operating laboratory equipment and/or executing test methods.
- Practical experience utilizing aseptic technique.
Education
- High School diploma (or equivalent) and relevant work experience, or Associate’s Degree (or equivalent).
- Bachelor’s Degree in scientific related field (biology or chemistry preferred).
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to work on your feet for more than 50% of a working shift.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds using correct and safe lifting techniques.
- Must be able to ascend and descend stairs and stepladders.
- Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment for up to 4 hours.
- Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
