A hospital in Chicago is seeking experienced Emergency Department Registrars to join their team.
This position is contract to hire (opportunity to become a permanent employee) with a large healthcare system. Both part-time and full-time shifts are available; Benefits & Paid Sick Time included.
Overview of Responsibilities:
- Greet incoming patients, obtain and update demographic information
- Verify patient's insurance information and collect patients payments
- Responsible for front desk coverage as well as assisting patients with registration throughout the department (room to room)
- Provide excellent customer service to patients both in person and over the phone at all times
Requirements:
- Insurance Verification experience
- Patient Registration experience
- Comfortable in fast-paced environments
- Comfortable walking (will be required to walk frequently throughout the department)
- Customer Service skills
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
Available Shifts:
- 3pm-11pm Thursday-Monday (Full Time)
- 11pm-7am Wednesday-Sunday (Full Time)
- 11pm-7am Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday (Part Time)
Pay: $15-19 per hour depending on experience
Length: 800 Hours (approx. 5 months if working a full time schedule) Contract to Hire*
*Possibility of long-term employment upon successful completion of contract period

Paid Sick and Safe Leave:
Employees can accrue up to 40 hours annually for medical or safety-related reasons, either for themselves or an immediate family member. Any unused accrued leave at the end of an assignment will not be paid out.
Paid Leave for Any Reason:
Employees can accrue up to 40 hours annually to use at their discretion. Any unused accrued leave at the end of an assignment will be paid out.
Accrual Rate:
Employees accrue 1 hour of paid leave for every 30 hours worked for both categories simultaneously. For example, working 30 hours in a week results in 2 hours of accrued leave:
- 1 hour under the Sick and Safe Leave category (not paid out at the end of an assignment).
- 1 hour under the Paid Leave for Any Reason category (paid out at the end of an assignment).
