Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist
Location:
Brentwood, TN - On-site during training, hybrid (4 days remote, 1 day in office) upon conversion
Employment Type:
Contract-to-hire (520 contract hours before conversion)
Schedule:
- Monday - Friday
- Training schedule: 8:00 AM start time
- Post-training: Flexible 8-hour shift, start time between 7:00 AM - 9:00 AM
Pay Range:
$18.00 - $21.00 per hour
Position Overview:
The AR Specialist will be responsible for insurance follow-ups and collections, primarily working with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers to ensure proper claims processing and account resolution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform insurance follow-ups on outstanding claims with Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial payers
- Work through payer portals to track and resolve unpaid claims
- Maintain accurate documentation of follow-up efforts and payer communications
- Collaborate with internal billing teams to escalate and resolve payment issues
- Ensure timely processing and progression of accounts
Qualifications:
Must-Have:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of accounts receivable experience
- Experience with Medicaid and Medicare insurance follow-ups
Nice-to-Have:
- AR experience within behavioral health or substance use disorder settings
Soft Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a team-oriented environment
