Medix is seeking a Multi Specialty Registered Nurse (RN) to be part of a world-class academic healthcare system in Crown Point, IN. In this role, you'll collaborate with physicians and clinical teams to provide exceptional patient care, coordinate diagnostic and therapeutic regimens, and facilitate communication between patients, families, and healthcare providers.

Responsibilities/ Job Duties:

• Conducts, responds to, follow up on, and triages patient phone calls to the physician as appropriate
• Assists physicians in clinic or procedure areas with patient examinations, diagnostic tests and/or therapeutic procedures.
• Counsels patients concerning lifestyle modifications, medication regimens, side effects, and interactions using an appropriate psychosocial communication level
• Communicates to clinics coordinators follow-up appointments, ancillary and/or pre-operative testing and scheduling needed for patient
• Arranges patient admissions; coordinates ordering of tests/procedures with fellows, attending, and other nursing staff
• Assists physicians in coordination of research programs by screening patients for acceptance into clinical research and outcome programs.
• Maintains office file notes, reviews charts, enters data for sectional demographic data base, assists in summarization and analysis of data

Minimum Education and Experience Qualification Requirements:

• BSN required
• Active RN license in the state of Indiana
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a clinical setting

Schedule/ Shift:

• 4x9 hour shifts plus 1 half day per week
