Job Summary

Our client is seeking a Floater to perform daily phlebotomy activities under the direction of the area supervisor, including coverage of client locations as needed. The role involves collecting and processing forensic and clinical specimens while ensuring courteous and professional interactions with clients, patients, and other personnel.

Key Responsibilities

• Ready to travel to a client assignment within a designated region with short notice.
• Ensure all field phlebotomy and PSC specimens are collected accurately and on time.
• Collect specimens according to established procedures and explain the process clearly to reduce patient anxiety.
• Dispose of biohazard fluids or tissues and contaminated sharps according to laws and policies.
• Complete requisitions accurately and enter patient, specimen, insurance, or billing information into the computer with high accuracy.
• Research test/client information using the lab computer system.
• Label, centrifuge, split, freeze, and package specimens as required, maintaining specimen integrity.
• Maintain required records and documentation, including daily logs and monthly statistics.
• Perform basic clerical duties such as filing, faxing, and mail preparation.
• Approve time attendance software entries and submit accurate expense and travel logs weekly.
• Ensure neat and clean facilities and address maintenance requirements.
• Utilize proper PPE and adhere to laboratory safety precautions.
• Protect confidentiality and integrity of sensitive company data, adhering to industry security practices.
• Familiarize and comply with the Corporate Compliance Program and all policies.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of consistent experience in a related field.

Additional Requirements

• Travel is required as part of the job responsibilities.
• Training will be conducted at a designated site.
