Job description

About The Role
This entry-level Veterinary Technician position operates under direct supervision, supporting veterinarians, study directors, and clients in animal health activities related to medicine, surgery, and drug therapy. The Veterinary Services team is responsible for treating on-site ill and injured animals and implementing the preventive medicine program as directed by the Attending Veterinarian.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

  • Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) or Veterinary Assisting certification preferred.
  • 6-12 months of experience working with animals (research or veterinary clinic setting preferred).
  • Basic to advanced computer skills.
  • Strong reading, writing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and execute complex instructions and communicate professionally.
  • Proficiency in basic algebra for dosage calculations.
  • Basic animal handling and medication administration skills.
  • Ability to wear and properly use PPE as required, including but not limited to respirators, gloves, lab coats, and protective eyewear.
  • Compliance with policies for handling and disposing of biological and chemical substances.
  • Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and evening hours as needed.
