Job description

POSITION SUMMARY
The purpose of this position is to greet all patients as they arrive, ensuring proper
exchange of information between the patient and our practice. Further, since this position is often the first contact many patients have with the clinic, this position is to act as a liaison
between the patient, the Practice staff, and the physicians.

ROLE QUALIFICATIONS (experience, education, and skills)
* Minimum one to two+ years of experience in a medical/clinical front desk type setting

* Patient Representative experience preferred.
* Basic knowledge of insurance plans, including Medicare & Medicaid.
* Proficiency in computer software use, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
* Displays excellent verbal and written communication skills.


ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
* Greet patients with a smile and a positive attitude
* Check-in all patients obtaining accurate and up-to-date demographic and insurance information at each patient visit
*Verify the scanned card images are current
* Work with the billing office as needed to ensure proper entry of patient insurance
information
* Assist with insurance verification of new patients and established patients with new
insurance
* Identify and collect all patient portion (i.e., co-payment, co-ins., deductible, etc..) from all
patients, as required
* Assist with telephone calls as needed both in-bound and outbound
