Job description

Medix is looking to hire a Technical Writer for a non-profit organization in Los Angeles, CA 90056 for a 6 month assignment.

The Technical Writer will develop written material instructions, collect documents from relevant and available sources for the purpose of creating SOP's, business rules and department training materials. Write, edit, and revise documentation for training development, support services, and transform complex subject matter into easy-to-understand information for end users. The ideal candidate will also have the following responsibilities:

  1. Act as internal consultant to functional areas.
  2. Document business process and workflows for end users
  3. Creation of initial documentation through collaboration with leadership, project management, IT, and others to gain an understanding of the product in order to perform technical writing tasks.
  4. Department software product documentation, including creating original content and editing existing content in online and printed guides, manuals, and tutorials.
  5. Draw, create, and select graphic charts, working drawings, illustrations, maps, etc. for department SharePoint page, displays, or similar documentation.
  6. Ensure accuracy, readability, and completeness of technical documentation.
  7. Provides maintenance instructions and other technical publications, such as training guides and release notes.
  8. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements / Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years' experience in the field
  • Requires excellent desktop computing skills with emphasis on MS Office products
  • Strong computer skills in authoring and graphics software
  • Must have knowledge of business process analysis, including process documentation, requirements gathering and specification definition.

Schedule:

  • Monday- Friday 8:00 -5:00 pm

Pay range:

$35-45/hr BOE
