Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Surgical Technician to join our team in a fast-paced, high-volume surgery center. As a Surgical Tech, you will be responsible for providing essential support during plastic surgery procedures, including assisting with sterile technique, preparing the operating room, and anticipating the needs of the surgical team. Your expertise in plastic surgery will be crucial to the success of the team and patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a scrub tech during assigned surgical procedures.
  • Prepare the operating room by arranging instruments and supplies according to the surgeon's preferences.
  • Ensure the availability of fluids, medications, and equipment, all labeled and ready for use during the operation.
  • Assist the surgeon by handing instruments, holding retractors, and performing other tasks within scope of practice.
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgical team, contributing to the smooth progress of the surgical procedure.
  • Coordinate equipment, supplies, and instrumentation according to the surgeon's preference cards, collaborating with team members to maintain and update these cards.
  • Perform in multiple specialties as required, offering flexibility with minimal notice.
  • Recognize the needs based on the patient's age and size and adapt preparation and technique accordingly.
  • Assist with patient positioning, moving, and transporting to ensure comfort and safety.
  • Facilitate room turnover in preparation for the next procedure.
  • Support the draping of patients and assist with specimen handling as per protocol.
  • Demonstrate strong sterile technique and assist the circulating nurse in adhering to AORN standards.
  • Maintain accurate sponge, sharps, and instrument counts in accordance with policy.
  • Operate and maintain familiarity with specialized equipment and instruments.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited school of surgical technology.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Registered as a Surgical Technician in Washington State.
  • Plastic Surgery experience required.
  • Certified Surgical Tech preferred.

Shift / Schedule:

  • TBD

Pay:

$27 - $37/hr (Depending on experience)
