Job description
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist with experience in plastic surgery to join our team. The successful candidate will serve as a scrub tech during surgical procedures, assisting the surgical team by preparing the operating room, anticipating the needs of the surgeon, and ensuring a smooth and efficient procedure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the scrub tech during plastic surgery procedures, ensuring the sterile field is maintained.
- Prepare and organize surgical instruments and supplies according to the surgeon's preferences.
- Maintain and monitor supplies, including medications and fluids, ensuring they are ready for use during the procedure.
- Assist the surgeon by passing instruments, holding retractors, and performing other duties as directed within the scope of practice.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to update and maintain surgeon preference cards.
- Prepare patients for surgery, including proper positioning and draping.
- Assist with room turnover and ensure all equipment is cleaned and sterilized according to standards.
- Ensure accurate sponge, sharp, and instrument counts during procedures.
- Communicate effectively with the surgical team, providing updates on procedure progress and any issues that arise.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited surgical technology program.
- Current BLS certification.
- Washington State Surgical Technologist registration.
- Experience in plastic surgery preferred.
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred.
