Job description

Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist with experience in plastic surgery to join our team. The successful candidate will serve as a scrub tech during surgical procedures, assisting the surgical team by preparing the operating room, anticipating the needs of the surgeon, and ensuring a smooth and efficient procedure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the scrub tech during plastic surgery procedures, ensuring the sterile field is maintained.
  • Prepare and organize surgical instruments and supplies according to the surgeon's preferences.
  • Maintain and monitor supplies, including medications and fluids, ensuring they are ready for use during the procedure.
  • Assist the surgeon by passing instruments, holding retractors, and performing other duties as directed within the scope of practice.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to update and maintain surgeon preference cards.
  • Prepare patients for surgery, including proper positioning and draping.
  • Assist with room turnover and ensure all equipment is cleaned and sterilized according to standards.
  • Ensure accurate sponge, sharp, and instrument counts during procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with the surgical team, providing updates on procedure progress and any issues that arise.

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited surgical technology program.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Washington State Surgical Technologist registration.
  • Experience in plastic surgery preferred.
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred.
