Job description

Position: Surgical Scheduler - Full-Time
Level: Senior Practice Assistant

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule all Operating Room (OR) surgeries, ensuring optimal use of time slots.
  • Collaborate with surgeons to coordinate schedules and types of procedures.
  • Manage patient cancellations or rescheduling by adjusting schedules and backfilling time slots to avoid any OR openings.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of all scheduling activities.
  • Primarily handle scheduling and coordination over the phone, but occasional in-person interactions with patients will be required on the day of their visit.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a scheduling role, preferably in a medical or surgical setting.
  • Strong understanding of surgical procedures and the ability to manage detailed and specific scheduling requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to handle direct feedback from surgeons and adapt to changes in scheduling needs.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
