Surgical Coder

We are looking for an individual with experience in physician and hospital outpatient coding. Including at least 2 years of experience in surgical coding

Location - Onsite for 2 weeks for training in Skokie and then remote

Salary - $59,000 - $65,000 depending on experience

Direct hire role

Shift - Monday - Friday starting between 5AM -9AM, 8 hour shift

Job Responsibilities

• Assigned work queues 1, 2 or 3 specialties - this individual will most likely be assigned to general surgery, podiatry, urology, or gastroenterology
• They will work based on day of service of high dollar accounts
• Current goal - release charges within 4 days, but they are not hitting this hence why they need more coders
• Communicate with providers
• Down the line get started with denials
• Work 5-10 denials and then work que, may use google to research
• If a charge does not meet medical necessity, they may need to look up
• Range of office visits and surgical cases

Required Qualifications:

• Have own equipment including monitor
• At least one certification: AAPC, CPC from AAPC or CCSP, RHIT, or RHIA
