Job description

Title: Surgery Scheduling Representative

Location: Avon, IN 46123
Schedule: Monday-Friday: 8am-4pm
Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for coordinating patient surgeries for 5 Providers
  • Prepare surgery packets to be completed by the Provider (this includes CPT codes, diagnosis, consents, etc.)
  • Send completed packets to the Surgery Coordinator for scheduling
  • Call patients to confirm appointments
  • Assist patients with approval paperwork
  • Obtain medical history/allergies/etc to be provided to the surgery center for Pre-Op instructions to be created
  • Discuss pre-op instructions with patients
  • Print X-rays & get chart prepared for Provider prior to surgeries
  • Register new patient record into the EMR
  • Schedule post-op appointments
  • Work within online insurance portals, confirming out of pocket costs/deductibles and educating patients on upfront costs for the surgery
  • Assisting with FMLA & disability paperwork
  • May be asked to support the back office with rooming patients (very rare)
