Job description

Direct-hire opportunity to work as a Supply Chain Lead in a laboratory setting!

Position Summary:

Coordinates, organizes, and executes activities involved in the identification, planning, acquisition

and maintenance of consumables, reagents, equipment, and patient samples used in the client's diagnostic and R&D lab thus providing operational support and maximizing productivity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day management and requisition of laboratory materials and supplies.
  • Manage inventory control.
  • Ensure required quantities of supplies and materials maintained, reduce excess and obsolete products as necessary.
  • Source alternate product availability and provide specification comparisons to assist in purchasing decisions.
  • Manage purchase orders and receipts, using Quartzy.
  • Maintain vendor contact data and serve as primary contact.
  • Produce and issue purchase orders with finance approval.
  • Establish a good working relationship and trust with finance staff.
  • Obtain quotes and supplier evaluations as necessary for purchasing and vendor qualification.
  • Monitor suppliers and supplier performance.
  • Work with Quality Assurance to qualify or disqualify vendors and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Collaborate and communicate with internal teams to optimize purchasing decisions.
  • Provide information and guidance on availability and cost of new supplies and materials.
  • Manage clinical and R&D collection site kit inventory.
  • Communicate with clinical diagnostic collection sites regarding contact information, kit training, branding/logo updates, holiday schedules, etc.
