Job description

  • The Billing Manager is responsible for directing and coordinating all aspects of the practice's medical billing and coding office including diligent management of insurance (including HMO and Medicare) claims processing and payment follow up, denial and appeal management, payment posting, patient balance/self-pay collections, outpatient surgical suite (facility) billing, contract negotiation, and financial counseling with patients pre and post op
  • The practice strives for exceptional patient experiences from their first point of contact with our receptionist to their surgery outcome, therefore the billing manager will not only help the practice grow through efficient and accurate billing practices but also have the ability to interact with our patients professionally over the phone and in person
  • Enter patient information into Nextech system and patient chart
  • Perform administrative tasks such as faxing, filing, copying, mailing, data entry, etc
  • Strong computer skills
  • Timely coding, billing and collections
  • Reviewing and resubmitting insurance denials for payment
  • Be familiar with physician credentialing to ensure participation with insurance companies
  • Accounts receivable
  • Pre-authorization of surgical, office and misc
  • Supervisory
  • Acts as a resource for staff, physician and patients to obtain information or clarification on accurate and ethical billing practices, documentation standards, guidelines, and regulatory requirements
  • Provides managerial support to assure consistency and timeliness with billing
  • Responsible for remaining current with the latest healthcare technology and billing/coding advise through reading available literature, attendance of seminars and in-services, internet research and other educational resources for reimbursement and coding
