Location: Hixson (Chattanooga), TN
Salary: $48,000 - $52,000 per year

Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor to join our multidisciplinary treatment team. The Counselor will provide essential counseling services, working independently and with the team to ensure high-quality patient care in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individual counseling and support for patients with substance use disorders.
  • Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide crisis intervention.
  • Monitor patient progress, document accurately, and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Coordinate with medical professionals and community agencies for patient advocacy.
  • Participate in program evaluation and development.

Physical & Emotional Demands:

  • Ability to handle occasional physical exertion and support patient weight if needed.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work with diverse patient needs.
  • Adherence to safety protocols and compliance with workplace policies.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Professional Counseling, or related field. Licensure or progress toward licensure required (e.g., LMSW, MSW with LSW, LPC, LMFT).
  • Experience with substance use and co-occurring disorders.
  • CPR and First Aid certification required.
  • Knowledge of addiction treatment, drug trends, and relevant regulations.

  • Strong observational, judgment, and communication skills.
  • Ability to prepare and maintain accurate patient files and treatment plans.
  • Professionalism in handling stressful situations.
