Job Description

Responsibilities/ Job Duties: Our organization specializes in reversing type 2 diabetes and obesity by supporting our patients in a safe, innovative and sustainable manner. We do this by combining our nutritional biochemistry, data science, digital tools, and above all else clinical expertise to provide the utmost high quality patient care and experience.

We are in the process of launching a one-of-a-kind service for a specified group of patients to assist them with their weight loss goals to help leverage a certain area of our services, and we need leaders to help us in achieving our mission! You will help build and manage a new Team of RN/CDE's as a player-coach by…

  • Manage and build the nursing team composed of 100+ indirect reports and 9 Nurse Managers; managing your managers while knowing what's going on on the front lines.
  • Lead QA/QI, supervision, scheduling, and working with our administrative team to manage licensure of team members.
  • Be a player coach: spend 10-20 percent of your time seeing patients and participating in clinical projects.
  • Conduct 20-minute clinical intake visits with prospective patients via video and/or phone. Intakes include verifying and documenting a clinical history, verifying medications, answering basic questions about Virta treatment, and identifying and flagging concerning history or labs for provider review.
  • Educate patients about Virta and Virta's treatment and helping them prepare for their nutritional and behavioral journey with Virta, setting them up for clinical success.
  • Partner with our providers to advance clinical initiatives.
  • Work closely with our coaching team to assure seamless care for our patients, leveraging coaching, nursing, and clinical resources.
  • Collaborate directly with our provider leaders and serve as a member of the clinical leadership team.
  • Be a creative and flexible leader. Solve clinical problems using the resources at your disposal. Figure out how to say, 'yes.'
  • Work and manage at scale, optimizing the team for high-performance and counseling low-performers out.

Minimum Education and Experience Qualification Requirements:

  • 2+ Years (minimum) Experience - Working with Diabetes Patients / Metabolic Setting
  • 10+ Years (minimum) Total Experience Managing Nurses - Upwards of 100+ direct/indirect reports.
  • Management experience must be in a recent Telehealth/Virtual setting.
  • Coming from previous experience working in a start-up environment is HIGHLY preferred.
  • Active RN License (Compact Preferred)
  • Associates or Bachelors RN Nursing Degree from an Accredited School or University

Schedule/ Shift: M-F, flexible start time between 6AM-9AM in employees residing time zone.
