Job Title: Sr. Development DBA
Work Location: Hybrid Onsite - Parsippany, NJ
Position Type: Full Time - Direct Hire
Salary Range: $125,000 - $130,000 + Bonus

Our client is a large health insurance provider for more than 2 million individuals in the NYC Tri-state area. They are seeking a Senior Data Administrator to oversee data integrity, availability and performance across a hybrid on-prem / cloud infrastructure.


  • Serving as the primary Data Administrator for medium-sized hybrid on-prem / cloud environment that includes both legacy SQL Server and MySQL Instances, as well as Azure and Google Cloud
  • Ensuring the integrity, availability, and performance of a hybrid (on-prem and cloud) Data Infrastructure
  • Collaborating closely with IT and Business leaders to maintain data integrity and support data integration processes.
  • Conducting SQL Server / MySQL Database Administration, maintenance, backup and recovery.
  • Optimizing SQL queries and stored procedures or performance optimization / tuning
  • Working across cloud platforms including Azure and GCP
  • Monitoring cloud resources to ensure high availability and performance, scaling up or down as necessary.
  • Implementing data migration and between on-prem and cloud environments.
  • Collaborating with data teams to design, develop and maintain ETL processes.
  • Resolving production ETL issues
  • Work with the data architecture team to design and manage corporate data models.
  • Ensure database security, access control, and data encryption, ensuring compliance with Healthcare Industry standards such as HIPAA, HITRUST and ISO 27001/2.


  • Required 5 years professional experience as a Database Admin / Development DBA
  • Required 5 + years in Microsoft SQL Server
  • Required 3 + years in Cloud Data (Azure Data Lakes or Google Cloud BigQuery)
  • Strong experience in T-SQL and Stored Procedure optimization
  • Strong knowledge of ETL and Data Mapping
  • 2 years of experience in a medical / clinical / healthcare industry is highly preferred
